Lightbulb CF Meet up Poll

So now we have plenty of interest in the CF meet up idea (link to thread) I thought a poll on some of the options would help us decide what kind of event to hold. Bear in mind I cant cover every eventuality so the options are pretty general at this stage.

The poll is multiple choice so please select all the options that apply to your preference, If you select other please post a detailed description of your choice:

Once we have a better idea of what we all want to do we can then move onto the the where and the when. Personally I think we should keep it simple to start and maybe we develop things in the future.

Thanks.

Guess I shouldn't partake since I won't be able to come.

I said a good 'ol knees up, IT related, own accomodation arrangements.

I know I'm not exactly a board veteran, but I'd give my right arm to meet some people that are like-minded (technologically literate ).

And my reasoning is: pubs/nights out equate to a knees up. People on this board gathering will inevitably end up a huge drunken debate on IT, as well as other things. And people will end up sorting out their own hotels/houses.

I chose organised IT event, wasnt sure if that meant 3rd party organised (ie, InfoSec Europe 2004, WiFi Workd 2004 etc) or organised by us (ie the little idea discussed in the other thread)

Seems Knees up/IT Event and Overnight stay are getting top marks atm

My vote is for an IT related event, with overnight stay including a good old knees up. Some sort of computer event at Birmingham NEC would be good, more or less central with a good chance of an event being on.

well I dont mind it being both non-IT or IT related...but would be nice whichever way really...just let me know when the next computer event is and I will do my best to sort it...of course my personal fave which I havent been to since 1998 was the LIVE event they hold in Earl's Court in central London. it was then I learnt about Bluetooth and 4D surround sound and even the start of Digital TV...blimey how its all changed since then...so yeah I'm in.

Sorry to let this go stale, works is really heavy for me of late so I've had limited time and didn't want to half heartedly do this, if anyone feels they may have more time to arrange this please step forward and offer your services to the community as it would be a shame to let this opportunity slip by.
