guys someone at work has just downloaded and installed this nifty program from Google...it allows one to view any part of the world and best of all its all in satellite pictures! shame it aint realtime...but certain parts of the world have proper minute detail as in you can view cars and stuff...give it a try and see what you think...i will deffo download it when I get home tonite

it also shows where Area 51 is altho since its underground you dont get much...but try looking at Las Vegas...

It's great isn't it. Try switching on 3d buildings then zooming in on New York...
The first thing that anyone uses it for is to look for area-51. Funny that!

such a great program but so not upto date...just went to Wembley expecting to see rubble but instead its the old Wembley...now thats what I call old...but still a great program

 

That's been doing the rounds on our support board at work today, too! Almost as good is their on-line map of the moon (I think it's http://moon.google.com/ ) which if you zoom all the way in turns into a piece of cheese!

the purchase of the company is what enabled them to provide satalite imagry to google maps as they aquired an imaging satalite as part of the purchase
