To my surprise I have had a posititive response to one of my job applications, the position is basically to route technical support calls from within the company to the appropiate departments aswell as providing support to the rest of the department (replacing ink cartridges and making tea).

As I said I am surprised as my certs are still a WIP though I have experience which may be working in my favour.

Yer, was unusual to see a entry level job advertised that didnt require a MCSE and five years experience.

Well had the interview, despite my preparation the old nerves were jingling away.

Anyway I had the first interview with a pretty HR girl, she went through my CV asked questions from a standard HR issue form like "can you give me an example when you worked in a team to resolve a problem" ETC.

Then I went onto a interview with a couple of the people from the IT department, compared to the HR interview it was much easier, I struck up an instant rapport with both of them and was able to be relaxed and confident. I had decided to be totally honest about what I knew and didnt know (cause they would find out if I bluffed anything).

I think the fact that I was committed towards gaining further ceritication worked in my favour.

ANyway the next stage of the interview if I get through is a half day assessment of my abilities, hopefully this will fall after I do my MCDST course.

Way to go tc! I'm glad you were honest about your exp. When I was going to vocational school they told us not to lie but to say something like I've not had the oppurtinuty to learn that like I want but I have always been interesting in it and look forward to learning it.

While it tells them you don't know about it. It also tells them you are willing to learn.

Good luck on the next step and let us know how it goes. :thumbleft

Well I have just returned, the day involved basically three tests, firstly fixing a busted old PC (needed new VGA adapter and Hardrive), assigning it a static IP and adding it to the domain.

Secondly I had to creat a account and Email address for myself using Active directionary, finally I had to schedule a file restore from the back up tapes.

It all went smoothly (accept for me forgetting how to add a W2k PC to a domain, I was honest and just admitted I had forgotten).

It seems like a good team to work with and I think overall it was a succesful day, I can expect a final decision soon (I get the impression I am the strongest candidate *touchwood*).

    Nervous times.....
