Need a new heatsink/fan

Need a new heatsink for my processor. Currently running an AMD Phenom II 550BE 3.1GHZ Socket AM2+/AM3 w/ stock

Currently running at 45 degrees with no load using Everest temperatures(these temperatures have been occuring ever since transfering to my cube case recently) I have tried tidying up the cables to increase air flow, but I think its probably as good as its gonna get for now)

Currently I can't play my more demanding games as the temperature shoots upto 65 + degrees under full load. So I need a heatsink that will allow me to play my other games and something that will also fit.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.. Also need thermal paste aswell of course :P

Hi Len,
I usually get my coolers from these guys.

The website lists a fair bit of info about each cooler.

Have you verified the temps in the BIOS. BIOS is the most accurate place.

Artic silver 5 and zalman 9600 will do you fine. You might just want to apply new paste and see if it helps before buying a new heatsink.

Don't the temp apps get their info from the BIOS?

Not always some also have the TJ max set lower or higher which can make temps look different to what they really are. Take speedfan for instance it can be totally innacurate when it comes to temps
