Hi!!
I'm a student about to finish a BND for IT Practitioners (Level 3). I'm here I guess because I'm not exactly sure which area of IT I would be most suited in, I like the idea of being an ICT/IT Technician though. I've no idea where to start looking for my first IT related job and was just wondering if you guys could help, along with any certificates I could gain to help me get started.

The A+ certification is generally the starting point for techs. Afterwards, the Network+ and MCDST certifications would do you good.
But don't wait until you're certified - start looking for your first IT job now! I'm also thinking about checking out the PC repair shop down the road, would this be a good starting point? Thanks everyone |

Yes this is a very good starting point, you could also look at volunteering for charities too whilst you are not getting paid you will be getting good experience and since there will be other IT guys/gals there you could make some decent contacts.
