I've been looking at getting some advice online with a view to improving my CV, and was digging around various places, so my question is simple:

Who do you use online to create or improve your CV ?

I'm thinking if we can get a decent list of sites and brief description of what they offer, prices, etc this could be a useful resource for members here. :deal

I am also trying to get my CV created and then posted online, as part of my course I get this done professionally. I still would like to do it myself and am trying to find some word templates etc or similar?

Same here Pablo, not the online version but the one that looks like it is someone elses and change all the text.

Have you got a web address for that template or do you have to be doing training with them?

I hate to be a bit of a pest here, but have to thought about going to the library and checking out a few books on the subject? I've found the following to be good references:

I was just thinking along the lines of having some online resources that we could perhaps point Members to that need such a service. Nothing wrong with using local resources as well though, as you rightly say, Trip [IMG]

    Hi Gav,

Just an idea, and without searching through the whole forum,
but you appear to get a lot of questions and threads relating
to "online cv" + " interview help" + " questions to ask" ???

Being an employer myself, and probably not the only one in
here, what about a section for job related services?
Might just be talking crap here ( stop it lol) but there are so
many threads relating to the same questions, and getting, what
I believe to be ( through experience) bloody good advice from
    forum members.

I would be more than willing to offer advice for anyone, as the
inside point of view, and i'm sure i'm not hhe only one.

Not sure if i'm making sense here. so correct me if it's come
accross wrong or not very clear, but i've just spent 18 hours
at work so i'm a bit knackered really lol

    Just an idea bud

Thats a cracking offer, Callum, and thanks for it, but I think you might be letting yourself in for a bit more than you bargained for. Hence I was looking for an online service that we could include as a link from Resources.

However, if you want to get in touch with anyone looking for CV advice, then drop them a PM in the first instance - you've already shown how much you have to offer from "the other side", and as always, we can only thank you for your help :thumbleft

    Offers on the table Gav.

I've no problem in offering help, and advice in whatever form,
I strive on challenges really, as I only sleep about 4 hours a
night i'm always looking for things to do.

I spent years fighting to get what I have, and learnt from being
s**t on and used and taken for a ride, but I learnt well.

I get respect from the people in my team, not because I demand
it, but because i've earnt it ( the hardest way)

I've just taken on another couple of lads, and have yet to make
a wrong choice over my employment choices to date, as I
believe i'm a very good judge of character....

Hence, as your all aware, I have a cracking sence of humour,
cos you only get out of life and work, what you put into it.
AND you work to live, not the other way round.

I'm only a relative newbee in here, but feel part of your team
from day one cos you all seem honest and down to earth, and
have a good sence of humour and no matter how or what
troubles you may have, and you've had some lately with the
job situation etc, you're always first to offer help and support
to others when you really need it too ???

As i said at the start, maybe just an idea, but something maybe
to work on or think about. I'm always up for a challenge, and
anything i could do to help, you know where i am

    best wishes Callum

Take a look at S1Jobs.com, and click on the Get that Job link at the top of the page - some good info there, Law.
