This forum was originally created as the result of an idea (and I think a good one) by a former CF member, in the early days. The problem seems to be gathering together people who have a common study goal and getting them to actively participate in a discussion forum format. For some reason, the idea of virtual study partners just never took off.

I suspect that part of the reason is the difficulty in getting everyone's schedule organized. It's easier to either study alone or if in school or a similar venue, to study with your partners IRL. When studying alone, if you hit a snag, most CF members just post their question in the appropriate forum for what they're studying.

Too bad. I still think there's potential in the idea if some way could be found to make it work.

Maybe we should have something like a certforums VLE (Virtual Learning Environment), what us schools have to have

I've never heard of it, or looked into it for that matter. Can you explain a bit more and provide an opinion?

Mabe video tutorials to start with, so you can browse in your spare time. with the option of submitting question. Then A virtual classroom once a month to discuss and go through the more popular tutorials eventually leading to certs.

oh right sounds good.. i want to progress further and do those other courses when i have completed my CCNA.

i really want to set up my own lab aswell at home.. but some of the kit is pretty expensive so dont really want to do it on my own. so we will see what happens.
