Giving Back to CF - PLEASE READ!!

Right i been missing for a few months and im back to my duties full time now. I been reading around the forum lately and i been discussing some issues with senior mods and i wanted to maybe get members feedback. CF is designed to help people prepare and pass exams and to start people off in the right direction. I would like to make a suggestion to help people more when they come looking for their info.

When you pass an exam - fail it! tell us more than just your score or how the exam was. We cant spread information like that - so effectively its useless. So this is my suggestion - tell us how you prepared for the exam, what you would could include was:

Books used - exam specific and reference books that are non exam specific.

Your real world experience with the product/material or did learn learn the product/material during your studies?

How you did and if any practical work in preperation for the exam

How did you go about this practical work? Eg real Cisco routers or Network simulators - then if so what did you use?

How long you studied for the exam?

Bacially any other info that can help people prepare for exams.

For the forum to work we would like people to contribute more - than just say "i need x" and then "i got y - passed thanks" Lets contribute more to CF and make it a better place together!

Thanks

Zimbo!

The people im actually appealing to are the ones who come out of exams.. it would be more helpful to us to know how you studied for it - more than your score - this way you can help people preparing.

I have hinted and asked on this issue time and time again but seems to fall on deaf ears, this shouldn't really be the case.

I dont see a need for stickys cause then we would need to sticky for each pass! What we ask from you guys is just more feedback than just I passed and thats my mark, i highlighted some points for you guys. Yes thats a good start but details!!

Hardly Cheeks they tend to share more on the actual exam - and less on how they preparing. You dont been to be struggling to come here - you can pass your exams and then come tell us how you prepared for it. For example we had a few people did CEH - they could tell us how to prepare - so people can find out more about certs and maybe explore areas they didnt know - and they dont need to be studying for the cert just finding out about the knowledge.

No not a sticky on each pass!
A sticky for each exam for members to add what they use for that exam .)

Great Idea. I have a very aggressive training program for the rest of this year (hence why I hardly post anymore, every spare minute is spend studying) I will definitely contribute.

I like this idea. I think a template with questions like those Zimbo put in bold in his OP would be good. If there were a similar format to the 'post exam' thread/posts it would make it easier for others looking for advice to read and compare.
