Hi people.

I have been considering a career in IT for some time now. For the past twelve years I have been caring for a family member who sadly died in January this year.

During my time as a carer, computers and the internet have been the only things that I have maintained an active interest in.

After recently looking to get my life back on track and realising that I have no current work skills after twelve years of caring, the opportunity has arisen to take the compTIA A+ course. This was referred through the Jobcentre.

As I understand it the course is an intensive 13 week course. I have an interview towards the end of this week at a local training centre. My acceptance onto the course will be subject to an assessment from this interview, notably my current general knowledge of computers and software.

I've been on-line since 1997 so I'm hoping my current knowledge will see me through. But I can't emphasize enough how important this opportunity is to me.

Any pointers and advice is gladly welcome.

Yes I got the impression the assessment will be aimed more at my own computing and software set up *fingers crossed*
