To be MCP or not to be MCP, that is the question!

Does having the MCDST, make you an MCP?

I am very confused, so people told me no but most of them said yes.

The one's who said yes, hinted that passing any ms exam automatically makes you a mcp? how true is this?

one MS exam makes you a microsoft certified professional, so passing one of the MCDST exams gets you MCP status. Passing the two MCDST exams makes you an MCDST

Warning: not all Microsoft exams will give you the MCP designation. For example, MCTS and MCITP exams do NOT make you an MCP.

Passing one of the MCDST exams will grant you the MCP designation. So, the answer to the original poster's question is: "Yes, having the MCDST makes you an MCP."

MCP is for the old tracks. MCTS seems to be the new equivalent...

Probably best to have MCP on your CV so it gets past the HR peeps. Having MCTS on your CV might get a WTF just now.

Me: You need to buy a couple of servers.
Customer: Whats wrong with the servers I have?
Me: Well, you dont have *any* servers just now.
Customer: WTF! I thought I did!
