MT-RJ Connectors

Whilst reading N+ 4th ed. Groth, while describing the MT-RJ connector, he used two terms that I don't understand:

* TX and RX strands in one connector.
* Keyed for single polarity.

Can anyone enlighten me on these terms please?

tx = transmit
rx= recive

keyed for single polarity means it will only fit in the socket th one way think molex plug or rj45 plug

infact I think you are describing a rj45 plug

It's not an RJ45. Apart from anything else it is fibre, not copper.

Some info and pics here.

Harry.
