Hi,
I have a cisco 857w router installed in our office on our backup ADSL line. It was working fine for ages but now it keeps dropping the internet connection. Sometimes it doesn't connect all day, sometimes it's not a problem.
I have plugged in a spare Netgear ADSL router when the Cisco wont connect and it picks up the internet connection immediately, so this makes me think the issue is with the router and not the ADSL line.
I have run debug atm events on the router and the output is below. I haven't been able to find much information to decipher the error messages so if anyone knows of a resource that may help, that would be great.
Here's the output of debug atm events;
006193: *Feb 4 16:37:07.859 UTC: DSL: Send ADSL_OPEN command.
006194: *Feb 4 16:37:07.859 UTC: DSL(ATM0): Using subfunction 0x0

006202: *Feb 4 16:37:20.707 UTC: DSL: Received response: 0x22
006203: *Feb 4 16:37:20.707 UTC: DSL: Open failed: Error in early non-CRC messa
ge or in first CRC-covered message -- retrying
006204: *Feb 4 16:37:20.707 UTC: sleep 5 seconds
It just keeps outputting this block of messages when it tries to connect.
Does anyone know what Response 0x22 means??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
