... and the cost is actually £217.38 with VAT... that is about $430 on current exchange rates.
That is disgusting!
Don't know what to do now...
If the pass mark reflected how naff the actual questions appear to be, judging from what a few of you guys have said, then I would consider it. But £200+ to just miss out with a 764 pass mark...

Is there a voucher you could use to get the cost down?
Me: You need to buy a couple of servers.
Customer: Whats wrong with the servers I have?
Me: Well, you dont have *any* servers just now.
Customer: WTF! I thought I did!

Not sure mate... I know that in the US PrepLogic do the deal where you buy their software and you get a test voucher. Not sure if anyone does it over here...
EDIT: I checked one of the A+ posts and found that Gracetech appears to do them for £175. Not sure if you have to pay the VAT on top...

I completey agree on it being overprice.
I had a look at the comptia website and they have the price at £185.
which company were you going to use for the exam?
I just checked on prometric site and they are charging 251 USD. Are you sure you don't have select twice or something? cause I do agree that it's way too expensive but you must be getting something more.

The £185 is excluding VAT (but they don't appear to say that until you have almost booked the thing...).
I am going to book through PearsonVue, and I am waiting to get the voucher from Gracetech... £175 with (apparently) no VAT.

No mate... £217.38 is the price in the UK, if you book and buy through PearsonVue or Prometric. Given the exchange rate, that means it should be close to £125 based on the US$251 price you quote.
It just shows it is daylight robbery...

I've got a funny feeling your know that when I took and passed my a+ pre 2003 it was about that price for each exam, (might have been £150 I cant quite remember). I know that when I found out the price I made damn sure I studied enough to be reasonably sure of a pass first time on them.
I'll have to see if I can login to comptia later on to have a look.
