Do old design exams still count in 2003?

I'm planning to upgrade my MCSE:2003 to MCSE:Security and am curious about the design exam.

When I took the MCSE about 3 years ago, the old (Windows 2000) design exams were valid, so I have 70-220 (Security Design), as well as two other designs from my MCSE:2000 (I upgraded the slow way)

If I take 70-299 to get MCSA:Security, will 220 count instead of 298 or will I need to take 298 to get the full MCSE:2003. I know it is backwards compatible so my MCSE:2000 should upgrade automatically if I pass 299

Thanks in advance
Tom

Always, always, always look on the vendor Web site for this sort of information. Otherwise, you may get old/incorrect information.

Yes, 70-220 will fulfill the MCSE 2003 Design requirement. From here:

Candidates may also take Exams 70-219, 70-220, 70-221, or 70-226 to satisfy the Core Design exam requirement.
**HOWEVER**... and it's a big however... 70-220 will NOT work for MCSE:Security 2003 - you must take 70-298: link

70-220 will work for the MCSE:Security 2000, but be sure you have everything else to go with it: link

Many thanks!
It looks as if it will be MCSE:Security(2000) and MCSA:Security(2003) then -- assuming I get through the exam

For the record, I have the same problem... I took 70-220 a billion years ago, so I've got MCSE:Security 2000 as well. The only thing keeping me from MCSE:Security 2003 is 70-298, which I'm considering doing.
