Going for the 70-284 - Exchange

Hi All,

Well... I thought the Vista exam (70-620) was going to be my last exam for a while, but it seems like I'm going to have to do the 70-284 exam, as I'll be teaching the course this academic year (it's a requirement by the college).

OK a little history... I've worked with Exchange 5.5 for about 2 years, I've also worked with Exchange 2000 for a short time (passed that exam) and currently working with Exchange 2k3 now for about a year (as well as setting up Exchange within our infrustucture - FE/BE, etc).

I've got Microsoft's training course, as well as Learnkey's course, X amount of years working with various versions of Exchange. Now my question to you is...

What else did you use to study? And how did you find the exam when compared to your experience/study material?

-Ken

Unfortunately I cant be much of a help to you here, but just wanted to say good luck with the studies and hope you do well.

I took this exam last week..... it's fairly straightforward (amazingly just 30 questions!) though a couple of nasties in there..... managed to get a score of 880

Main thing I found was that the exam seemed very focused on SMTP so make sure you learn that inside-out..... seems Microsoft feel it's very important to understand how mail is routed in and out of a company via the Internet. Fortunately SMTP isn't that big an area of study so as long as you nail that, much of the rest of the exam is common sense.....

I used the MS study kit and CBT Nuggets...... though, from the sounds of your experience, I think you could probably take the exam tomorrow and score 900+

It's not a particularly involved exam compared to some (like the hellish 297!) - I think you'd whiz through it in less than an hour to be honest......

Some exams that I've taken, I thought I'd get 900+ and only ended up getting just above the 700 or 800 mark But let's face it the subjects are so wide & indepth (and sometimes obscure)

Thanks guys for your comments

I went though ms technet and found some stuff that I hope will help you. I just searched for what exam requirements. Now, you will have to choose which one will suit you best out of the choices. This is something that I'm not skilled in so you know which ones will be best for your studies. I'm just hoping that this will save you some time in your busy days. I wish you all the best wag, and know you will kill it.
