Self study kits from prosoft (CIW).....

I read a post yesterday saying the self study kits on the CIW web site www.ciwcertified.com, have now stopped being posted to the U.K
I looked on the site and found out it was stated and contacted them.
Got a reply today....it is true, but you can get them from authorized distributors here in the UK.

Yer right....the prices have more then doubled and i can't see how they can get away with it. So i have made a complaint to prosoft and i am awaiting their reply.

Can i encourage anyone on here to do the same.....otherwise we will be paying through the teeth for the study material.

I PASSED THE SITE DESIGNER V5 EXAM TODAY!!!!!!!!! YEPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for taking up my complaint, have you got the email address you sent the complaint to.I will then send one, hopefully they will see sense and let us order from the US.

I will be ordering foundations as soon as this is sorted.

The exam started off badly...in other words, i didn't have a bloody clue but things soon fell into place but i only just managed to pass. 71%, a bit bloody close hey.....but done it now and lets see where it gets me?????????????????

With regards to the study kits...well, got a reply, but not sure if they are trying to flog me off. They said that they will allow me to purchase the e-commerce study kit from them for the normal price ($149) so i can finish the course. "don't want you missing out on becoming a master designer" they said. Bollocks i said.

anyway....gonna have to go as i am feeling a bit pissed.... celebrated with a few to many, i think. Bloddy hell it's late.

Has anyone heard back from prosoft yet? I really want to get on with the course but I can't afford the UK provider prices! It seems so unfair that we have to pay so much more for the same material.

 

I'm keen to hear anything further on this topic as well as I too am struggling to commit to a huge loan to see me through these certs.

I have heard a few not so good things about some of the UK providers and as far as most of them go I struggle to see where they are adding the value to justify the prices.

 

Can you not self study then you dont have to pay anyone

 

I think that's why he's interested in the price of the self-study kits.

Don't know if anyone has noticed, but you can now buy any of the CIW course material from their web site.
Before, there was a notice saying that they no longer post to the u.k.
That notice has no gone, so i presume that we all can get them now at a decent price?

Has anyone done this?

 

I tried ordering the books last week from their website knowing that i might be refused to purchse direct from them and guess what , i was right. i got an email from a lady from computerprep i think saying to order from UK Distributor.
