I'll be starting my server+ in the not too distant future so I need to plan ahead and look to spend the companies money wisely! I know it's an old and very much asked question but a fair one at that...recommendations for study material for SK0-002 please?
Just passed my Server+...with the help of the Thomson Course Technology CompTIA accredited Book.
Its printed by ILT Series - ISBN 1-4239-1457-0 (1423914570)
It's authorised by CompTIA and comes with 2 CD's crammed with CBT stuff, from a few hundered exam questions to matching exam objectives to particular parts of the online material and book.
Cost around £30 from the US.
Hope the above helps...if only 1 month after the original post
It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes
That's all you need to study to be ready for the exam. Enjoy!

To be fair, one or two textbooks wouldn't hurt either. Not a lot of new material on the market for this exam. Most of the books were published in 2001, around the time the latest version of this exam was released. Here's the amazon link:

Been a way for a while and i have come back to tackle this bad boy...
I looked around for ages trying to find new material or if there was any going to come out in the nr future but nothing!
So i have opted fro the Exam Cram 2 book - also i have downloaded loads of HP stuff for their AIS and ASE Exam which is Server Hardware exam - maybe this will help....
Just printing this out now and will have a read and see if it is any good.
This is sorta off-topic for this thread, but here goes anyway.
I looked into the Server+ but was never impressed with it from a knowledge standpoint. To me it reminded me of the Linux+ cert. It covers a vast amount of territory, but at such a thin level that the knowledge is for all intents and purposes useless for every day usage.
I mean, I could pass a Linux+ cert and be absolutely useless in a Linux environment as there isn't enough depth of knowledge there to do anything for me other than than to know some things exist. It seems to me that my time and energy would be much better spent in other areas.
Am I incorrect in my assessment of the Server+ cert?
Behold, the turtle. He makes progress only when he sticks his neck out.

Sometimes, just knowing things exist is enough to lead you in the correct direction when searching for a solution.
If you're looking for books, I signed up here recently.
I'm not sure how many CF members know about this or have signed up, but I think it's great value for money (considering how much I try to read, how little spare equity I have, and the fact I have no spare space left on my shelf).
Plus they've got a free trial on at the moment.
They have masses of Certification books. Sign up and have a browse, and see what you think
