Saw there werent any post here so i thought i'd add one.
I've got Server+, found it ok, but really enjoy studying for it as it was slightly different to the other certs i've taken. I found it quite interesting.
Has anyone else taken this? Or thinking of taking it? Anyone found it useful?
I haven't taken it and don't plan to but I did study the Cram Exam textbook while I was writing a piece on servers. The consensus opinion is that the Server+ and Network+ are more or less equal but emphasize a different skill set. Network+ certifies that the person has a level of understanding of networks equal to about 12 to 18 months of experience. Server+ says the same, only about server hardware, operating systems, and applications. Server+ can be thought of as an amplified A+ plus some networking thrown into the mix. If you're going for your MCSA/MCSE, The A+ plus either the Server+ or the Network+ cert equal one elective.
The current version of the Server+ test retires the fourth quarter of this year so if you want to take the exam under the current parameters, you'd better hurry.

I'd also agree that that Server+ might just be a heavier version of the A+.
But at the time i was studying (a few years ago) it was nice to learn about things that affect the server room and RAID etc.
I do think it is very expensive to take and might not be worth as much as the A+ or Network+, but if your new(ish) to IT and Network Management i'd say at least read the material.
Sometimes, even if you don't take a certification test, having some of the materials around to consult isn't a bad idea. The current Server+ material is dated (no mention of iSCSI, NAS, SAN, 64-bit servers, etc...) which is why it's getting a face lift this fall/winter. I'd get the new study material just to have all the basic info about servers in one text. Never know when having it as a reference would come in handy. My 2 cents as well.
