Exclamation Help on Security+

Hi All,

I am currenly planning to give the security+ exam by this month end...have gone through the sybex & tcat's guide along with the visual cert exams...
anyone who has recently appeared for the exams pls let me know if there is anything more that i need to go through b4 going for this expensive exam..

Hi,

Well i think that what you 've gone throught is enough.However, I recommend you go throught Security+ Exam cram 2.

Don't worry the exam is simple you just need to know the concept.

I would slightly disagree that the exam is simple. Personally I think CompTIA exams tend to be poorly written which doesn't help. The security+ exam is seen by many as the hardest that CompTIA do. The only help I can give you is to make sure that you know your stuff and that you do as many practice exams possible. Go through CompTIA's objectives and make sure you have covered them all as good books on Security+ are few and far between. Also no book covers all the objectives as well.

something i want to ask is how come comptia prices this exam so high? i am keen to do s+ as my elective for mcsa but with the exam price at 170 quid????

Zimbo, CompTIA prices are shockingly high and in some respects not worth the money. God knows why they stupidly outprice themselves for many people. Maybe it's because their exams are for life and they only get one chance to rip you off...

its something that has really put me off their certs.. i mean they look like great foundations but come time to paying for the exam you die!

Hi All,

Finally i cleared the Sec+ exam today with 892...Exam was OK The report said i missed on General Security Concepts..

Anyway good thing is i got it cleared at first attempt...
