Certifications - The Basics

No idea where to stick this. You may have all seen it before, it may even be pinned here somewhere. You might not be interested.
The newbie area seemed a good bet.
Ever wonder what it is that all the certs are, and what they do for you?
It's simple, but interesting reading...

I pinned it so it wouldn't get lost in the shuffle. Good find, Jonny.

Don't be confused yet!

Have a look around the forum. You'll see only a handfull of the certs listed are 'popular' so it simplifies things.

ECDL must be invigilated, just like most certs, so must be done at a test centre.

But you don't need to sign up for a course, you can self-study and take the modules.

Because there are 7 modules it is slightly complicated - and you need to get a 'passbook' which is marked as you do the modules. If you keep to one testing site they should be able to do all this for you.

If you have any exposure to Windows and the main components of office it should be fairly easy to do. I suspect that module 5, Access, would be the hardest.

Harry.
