    Hi all

I had been discussing with Dave (UCM) trying to get those of us local in Dorset together for a meet-up and in the cirumstances some of them have indicated that we should still go ahead, partly in Dave's memory.

So, there's me, Wassup, Bambino and Jiser (when he checks his PM's).

The proposal is to meet at the Angel Inn pub in Ferndown (http://www.hall-woodhouse.co.uk/pubs/pubwalks/angelinn.asp) who do good food and a reasonable ale selection, date and time to be confirmed but before Xmas.

However, as we will not have Dave around to join us it seems sensible to open this up to any other forum members who'd like to head to Dorset for the GTG to pay their respects.

Post here if you're interested and if anyone wants to travel down there are plenty of Travel Lodges and the like in the area and I can give some details out.

    Thanks

    DS

I'm up for it for sure.

*only found out about UCM tonight, so I'm still in a bit of a shock about his passing*

Once you can confirm the date, I'll know how long I can make it for (in case I have work the next day).

But I wouldn't pass the opportunity to toast a memorable friend. I'll be there.

I'll be there as well - as long as the date isn't pre-booked.

I'll definitely like to raise a glass (or 10) the the memory of UCM.

Ok then folks how about next week on the Thursday evening (that's the 4th) ?

For those that want some night-life afterwards, Bournemouth is about 10/15 mins away.

Oh, and why the Angel ? Well this extract from PM's with UCM :

UKDS :The Angel is nice in Ferndown and we could grab a bite there too (nice gourmet burger - yum!)

    UCM : mmmmm...

    UCM :good idea!

So I'll def be having a burger for Dave

4th sounds good here. I have been past The Angel countless times, but never actually been in there

Er - not a weekend? That would make it almost impossible for me because of the distance. (2 to 3 hours each way) :ohmy

Sorry Harry, wasn't thinking. Originally this was only going to be 3 or 4 of us locals getting together. That pub does get v busy too on Fri and Sat nights as the food is good (it's not a spit 'n' sawdust type place :biggrin ). Bearing in mind many places also start to get booked up early Dec for Xmas outings if it's going to turn into a full-on GTG then we'd better sort numbers and date v quickly so I can get alternative venue.

So, c'mon people, reply on this thread ASAP !

No probs - I hadn't really taken in that it might be a 'local' night. I just wanted to lend support to a GTG, and particularly as a tribute to UCM.

I'm in Manchester for the weekend of the 13th/14th but otherwise can make any weekend.

As with Harry, due to the distance I could not make it on a weeknight.

As the GTG was originally intended for locals, I will raise my glass for UCM with CF members on another night - but you'll hear from me for certain, when I go to Poole to visit the church his service is being held at.

Ok, we'll stick with the Thursday 4th unless there's a lot of out-of-towners who reply over the weekend saying they'd come if it was held on a Sat (with apologies to Arro and Harry).

What about the Hampshire guys ? Fancy popping across the broder ?

    UKDarkstar
    Jiser
    Wassup
    Bambino
    Founder10

and anyone else who's passing :biggrin

Meet at The Angel Inn, Ferndown (Map/address here for Flounder)

Suggestion is to meet 7.30/8pm. I'll probably get there a bit early and I'll stand a CertForums logo on the table as I haven't met any of you yet :biggrin

PM me or email for any other directions/instructions.
