    Hi all,

Just took the 71-621 exam (again) today. The exam felt alot harder than the first one, but it was fair.

If you're going to sit this exam (or the final release) just make sure you know:

    1. Group policy inside and out - lot on this (at least on my exam)
    2. How Vista works in a domain and workgroup.
    3. How Vista works with legacy OS's
    4. How to update Vista and what to do when it goes wrong
    5. How to upgrade/install Vista via various ways
    6. Plus alot on the new things in Vista

    Basically every that's listed here.

The funny thing on my exam is that I had 3 questions that were duplicated, so I answered them the same (I just hope that I answered it right :) )

Oh well, the 12 week wait until I found out if I passed this exam or not.

I'm waiting for the results to my exchange beta exam
I doubt I did any good on it, the material out there for exchagne 2007 when I sat it was minimalist at best (I did have my trusty pocket consultant on the bookshelf, but didnt get a chance to read it all hehe)

Good luck with Vista mate :)

Same here, there weren't really any good material out there for the 70-621 (mainly since it's not out yet). Thanks, and you too :)

Yep, otherwise it's 3 exams :) But in my opinion it's alot harder than the level where the MCDST sits. It goes alot more indepth into Vista than the MCDST did for XP.

    Agreed.

My 70-620 book covers some of the content in 70-621. I think the other two exams are 70-622 and, I think, 70-624.

Yeah I am, but it's still nice to check out the same virtual haunts every day, even though it is via a 28.8kbps dial up connection (arg!!). :)

Meanwhile, away from plugging books :dry

I know it's too late and the beta is now closed, but...

I took the '621 today, and got questions on all sorts of things that are in the objectves.

I had no duplicated questions, but I got some of the weird questions like those that were on the first beta.

Hey, hey, that's a little too much info... that's confidential info about the exam that you told Microsoft that you wouldn't share.

My post was not much more detailed that that listed above.

It seems we are allowed to promote books on this forum but not actually discuss exams :blink

As a general comment: I felt this exam was far too easy. MCDST was not exactly difficult, and this '621 exam gives you MCTS and MCITP. I would expect a greater level of knowledge from an 'IT Professional'.

I think it was the luck of your draw, each exam pulls questions from a pool of questions. Alot (thankfully not all) of the questions on my exam were alot harder than I expected, they actually were in the realm of the System Admin, stuff say a first line support (eg helpdesk) person just would not be allowed to do. But then again MS do say:

"Candidates should have at least three to five years of experience as a Tier 2-level or Lead Desktop Support Technician."

In my opinion the exam was fair.

You're not able to discuss exams because you signed a confidentiality agreement stating that you wouldn't. There's no such restriction against promoting books.

For the record, you did provide too much info about the exam, and the mods here seem to agree - they edited that info out of your post. So it's not just my own crazy opinion.
