Ok, i have done a fair bit of snooping around, and narrowed the search to four venues.
I think the sooner we decide the better, so we can arrange transport, B&B etc. We will also need a collection (via Paypal?) for a deposit; All of them will require £5 per head.
I have included a Postcode next to the link of the restaurants as I know distance will be one of the main issues when deciding for most people.

    Vote now!

try googlemaps, put in the postcode of the station and then the postcode of one of the restaurants.

    I don't think it'll be more than 2 or 3 miles.

I dunno where abouts the railway stations are, but I think that I know where that Latin place is, so I voted for there!

Cheek, is it near the Arcadia Place?

    Peppers is on Broad Street
Las Iguanas is on Hurst Street
Locanta is on St Paul Sqaure

The above three are walking distance from the 3 main train stations

Al Frash is on Ladypool Road which is like 20 - 30 min drive, could be well less aswell, but again all depends on where you want to go in the centre and of traffic...

i would lift people to the train stations, but only have room for 3...

edit: i wanna change my vote for Peppers!

Ok, just to keep everyone informed.....

I have contacted the most popular venue's with regards to booking a table.

    iguanas.co.uk
I have booked an <open> table for Saturday 2nd December. They advised to confirm the number of people, time and pay the deposit of £5 per head as soon as we can if we decide to go there.
Christmas is a busy time for most places and this place looks a good laugh. :)
I have attached the menu that they sent me.

    locanta.com
Still waiting to contact them. I will try again this evening.

    Just spoke to locanta.com
Person who answered the phone was very helpful and polite. He said the same as iguanas.co.uk ; £5 per head deposit and book sooner rather than later.

I personally haven't got a problem with that.
If X amount of people pay a deposit for a meal, then they will have that refunded from their bill. If ten people want to join after (or during the meal; i haven't seen any restaurant's turn people away) as long as they pay <their bit> that is grand.
