    Hi
I told myself that I want to do 4 certs this year. I was learning towards 70-680 but can't focus on it (I find it very boring), so I decided to do Sec+ before I start my new job on 28.02 (and to do 70-680 later. I plan to read the book twice (like I did with A+ and N+) and do some practice exams. Now I work in the afternoons, so I have few spare hours in the morning.
my plan is to read at least 40 pages per day and go for exam on 25.02, hopefully will do it :-)

Preplogic are currently selling megaguides for a dollar, might be worth purchasing the Sec+ one as for 60 odd pence it might cover a few gaps and give another perspective,

Definitely doable if you're that way inclined. I sat the exam after 4 days in a classroom, I spent most of that time bouncing off the instructor as it was only the two of us (we skipped a lot of the material because I already knew it so only concentrated on my weaker areas).

Definitely know your cryptography and encryption as well as virii etc.

I found it really interesting but obviously not everyone does.

I enjoy it so far, it all seems so easy so far, as I was quite interested in pc security in the past, plus there is some stuff from N+
not as difficult as I thought

cheers guys, I will need it. I learn better while working, and then its easy to understand everything. Learning by reading is not my cup of tea.

I passed with 755 points, only 5 points above necessary. the test was difficult and I had an headache what made it even worse, plus there were lots words I didn't know so I had to guess what is the question about :biggrin (excuses, excuses :D)

About my preparation. I was preparing using only MM Security+ Passport, exam that was inside and Security+ Mega Guide from Preplogic after reading the passport twice.
I was also using exams from the web: http://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/search.php?search=Security+ I think they are not what real exams are (for example each test is focused on something else, for example one of them had about 10-20 questions asking about MAC, just in different way) but helped me :-)
