Many many thanks to Boyce for organising this do. I for one am really looking forward to meeting some of you guys, so if there are any more takers, I Suggest you contact Boyce and get a place booked - COME ON.

I was thinknig about leaving early and getting the train home tha same night. Northampton is only an hour train ride away, on a normal day. The c**p train service we have on Sundays also rolls into Saturday nights. It meant that I would have to leave about 110pmish and get to Northampton after midnight.

So I had a look at the links that CM posted and got a ROOM ONLY at the Birmingham Edgebaston Thistle Hotel, single room for £29.00.

    LINK

Get in quick guys, coz I'm not sure how many rooms they have for this price.

I remember seeing that hotel when I frequented Brum many years ago.

I'm booked into the Thistle City, a tad more expensive, but much closer to the restaurant.

Okay booked the hotel suggested, had to use the remaining credit on my CC though, so it'd better be worth it. :p

Er - Maestro *is* a normal debit card! It is the old Switch card under it's international name.

Odd - I've had no problems. Perhaps your one is very new and the number checker hasn't caught up with a new issuer number.

I think what he means is not all sites accept debit cards
this is due there thier less stringant security measures compared with credit card company counterparts

although i think thats hogswash :)

Switch/Solo/Maestro/Cirrus don't get accepted everywhere, but a Visa Debit card does, go figure! :)
Certain banks/BS like Halifax give Visa debit cards from what I remember (true visa not that dodgy visa counterpart that no body accepts anyway), could be wrong though

Thats what I meant, switch/maestro isn't accepted which can be very annoying as means I can no longer use some sites that I would use on a regular basis, good job I didn't close my barclays current account. Looks like the grass isn't greener on the other side, when I'm in a position to do so, looks like I'll be using my barclays account again.
