This exam is a beast. Should be renamed simply DNS as that is what most of the questions were about.
Back to the books. Damn this has really got me down
I think they actually do call this exam the beast. I've heard like you've found out that it's very DNS focused. I didn't think there was that much to DNS until I started doing this exam.
Anyways I'm sure you will crack it next time around.
100% Geordie Beef
Todo list:
MCSA MCSE Server+ Linux+ Marry a Blonde Model Win the World Cup with England World Domination
I would say that 70% of my exam was DNS, the rest was made up of WSUS (2 - 3 questions), RRAS (2 questions) DHCP (about 4 questions) and IP addressing (again about 2-3 questions)
I only had one simulation type question but loads of more then one answer questions

It sounds like you got a difficult exam as I personally like the sims as even if I don't know how to do something then in a sim I can usually find my way around.

Me: You need to buy a couple of servers.
Customer: Whats wrong with the servers I have?
Me: Well, you dont have *any* servers just now.
Customer: WTF! I thought I did!
Doesnt matter, a pass is a pass and fail is a fail.
Time to pick yourself up and get back to studying, if DNS is your weak point then start there.

The Sybex 70-291 book came today so I've started to go through that. At the moment I prefer it to the MSPress book but I can see that I really need both books.
Taking the exam and failing is not necessarily a bad thing. It just proves that more study time is need and it does point out the areas that you need to go over again. I will be doing alot more messing about on my VM setup this time as well.
