Unix Solaris Training / Certifiation

My work have said they will send me on Unix/Solaris training but I have to find the course.

I do low level system admin and don't have much Unix/Solaris experience.

Are there any training courses I coudl do that would give me a certificate?

I've not done any training before so not sure how to find a good course.

I also have to find an SQL one too.

Thanks

Hi and welcome to CF!

Sun run training courses on Solaris, as do many others.

When you say 'SQL course' what is actualy meant? The common DBMS on Sun kit is Oracle, and Oracle do some excellent training (I've been on a couple of their courses).

Alternatives to Oracle are PostgreSQL, used quite a lot by Sun, and MySQL, which Sun has recently bought.

Harry.

Thanks, I will have a look for some Sun Solaris courses.

The SQL is a bit seperate really. I used it in my job too, to query an Oracle database and can go on some training and was wondering what type and if you can get SQL certified?

If you are using Oracle then I suggest you go for their courses.
