Green Belt - not Martial Arts but Six Sigma

Hi All,

To follow on from my last post regarding Six Sigma certifications (Quality & Process management). I've reached "Green Belt" Status

Now on to looking what I can improve in IT Services

Some of the things that were covered is not really relevant (eg manufacturing process), however the quality & improvement part (which was a bigger part) was very interesting and can be applied to virtually any industry/dept. At first I was aiming for "Black Belt", however I knew that the higher level was just not for me.

Oh well, now back to studying for MS & technical certs again - it was nice doing something different

Congrats Ken.

Just had a read up on it from your previous links. Do you report to and get assistance from someone who actually is a 'black belt' in your place of work then, or do you get to call upon 'black belts' from other companies for help?

Thanks mate, and no (on both counts). My place of work hasn't adopted the Six Sigma scheme. And I don't hire myself out. Basically it's taking what I've learnt and applying what I deem as practical in my environment. It would have been nice but I just don't have the time to go "full" six sigma - so it's kinda 3 sigma

Well done Ken,

Must admit I never saw your previous post on this, sounds kind of interesting.

If it can improve practices in the workplace then it can only be a good thing.
