CCDE Arrives

Cisco has announced the CCDE - Cisco Certified Design Expert - the design equivalent to the CCIE.

http://www.cisco.com/web/learning/le3/ccde/index.html

The CCDE follows the same pattern as the CCIE, with a preliminary written exam and a lab exam to obtain the certification. It will be interesting to see how the lab portion is done!

I saw the new "Cisco Certified Design Expert" but fail to see who would be most interested in this. Maybe it's too new and I haven't grasped it - probably the case.

For the folks that are currently designing networks in a Sr. capacity, what do you value most today? The Cisco CCNP; CCIE; JNCIE; other? Do you see this certification changing the IT landscape or even becoming a cert in demand?
