Excellent Jak, just what I was looking for!
Sorry to drag this one back out in the open, but I tried installing spellbound twice and have a problem. I can't get the actual English (US) dictionary to install. Spellbound installs fine but when I try to run it I get an error message saying the dictionary is missing. Found the site to install it from but when I click on the link, it just sits there. I actually don't care much myself, but I recommended this to one of our new members who isn't the greatest speller in the world (she and I have known each other for awhile so I guess I can mention it...she knows who she is) .

Anyway, if anyone out there has a bright idea about how to make this work, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

Trip, did you notice whether a security bar appeared at the top of the browser page? It says something like this...

"To protect your computer, Firefox prevented this site (spellbound.sourceforge.net) from installing software on your computer."

Do you get this message?

You need to click on that bar and allow the originating site, which in the case of the dictionaries is http://dictionaries.mozdev.org/

There are two sites you can download the dictionaries from, the other is http://www.mozilla.org/products/thun...tionaries.html

Might be worth trying both!

There could be other issues regarding permissions according to the FAQs http://spellbound.sourceforge.net/faq#q601

On that page, there is also a method mentioned for using Microsoft's Word dictionaries instead, you just need to rename the files and shuffle things round a bit.

Finally found a mod allowing me to move the tabs about and order them as I wish
also provides alot of other tab options!! GREAT

Tab Mix 0.2.1
Tab Mix provides alot of tab options, and allows the dragong of tabs, as well as undoing close tab! very handy, and replaces a few of my aforementioned mod choices by combining thier features

a great mod!

Installed it and seems to work a treat speeding up the browser.

NICE

How about this for downloading and saving vids from YouTube, Google etc to your PC for later viewing:

Video Downloader 2.0

I've found this extremely handy recently when doing investigations into Internet abuse at work - just recently I used it to download and save fifteen soft-pr0n vids that some fool had viewed via our Proxy Server at work

Alright, so we we're going to plug up that hole?
Yeah, we can get it done tomorrow if price is no object...

Ah - that may well be the case.

Admittedly, I've never actually used it on Google Video - 99% of the abuse reports I deal with at work are related to YouTube vids.

Believe me, I've seen things on YouTube that would make your toes curl...

I gather that YouTube spends a lot of time taking things down.

It certainly does!

I pulled six videos of some 'highly questionable' sexual activity off there after investigating misuse at work yesterday - less than an hour later they were gone from the site completely!

You'd think their upload system would have decent filtering controls in place, but it must be pretty easy to bypass them judging from some of the content I've seen on there...

Strange I never noticed this thread before.

I was going to mention FireTune but I see AJ already has. It works pretty well though, so it's worth a second mention.

Others I use are IE Tab and Reveal (great for seeing a thumbnail of all your tabs at once).

I think it's about time some people changed their Christmas avatars.

there is Foxmarks, you load the extension on FF and it gets uploaded, when you login into FF on another pc and have that extension loaded, the bookmark downloads and updates that browser on...

does anyone know of an extension that does the same thing for extensions?

I quite like the 'noscript' security extension. It's interesting seeing what different websites try to get Firefox to do...
