i have three lab book titles by mike meyers and they are

A guide to managing and troubleshooting PCs
A+ guide to operating PC hardware
A+ guide to operating systems

i got these from a thread from zimbo. i'm not sure which ones i need to pass the os part of the A+ qualification.

There is also another title the A+ complete lab manual.

Reading books alone will not be sufficient to pass the exam. How much actual 'hands on' do you have?

It is familliarisation with actually doing what you are reading about that will see you through the exam. All of the books will cover the material, but simply to different depths.

Good advice!

Can you post the ISBN numbers here for the LAB books Spenner?

Only there are two types of Lab Manuals written by Mike Meyers

These are the ones I have and yes they are in depth and provide indepth exercises for PC hardware. But to be on the safe side you might want to buy the Passport A+ by Mike Meyes 2nd Ed. This has over 200 practice question for the A+ and is a concise version of the All in one A+ book.

For the Lab manuals you need theory and practical books. There's 4 books in all. 2 for Hardware and 2 for software:-

Mike Meyers' A+ Guide to Managing and Troubleshooting PCs click here to see details

A and Guide to Managing and Troubleshooting PCs: Lab Manual (Mike Meyers' A+ Guide)

You can't use one without the other because 1 has the questions to the praticals the other is the answer book to the lab manuals.

Also for software Lab manual

If you have no conditions to test with devices. Try Testout A+. I think the Simulator of them is very good!
